Golden Tan and Rutile Blue Pedestal Bowl

$38.00

This unique golden tan and rutile blue pedestal bowl is a fantastic size for soup, salad or a nice big bowl of ice cream. It could be a gorgeous candy dish, or a pretty spot to stash your keys or jewelry. My transparent Rutile glaze was used on the outside of this footed bowl, adding pretty swirls of lavender and blue layered over the dark brown clay. The interior and lip of the bowl is glazed in a warm golden tan glaze.

DIMENSIONS
The bowl stands a bit over 4" tall, and measures 5 1/2" across the lip. The very bottom of the foot is about 4" diameter, providing a stable base for this pretty bowl. The bowl holds 12 oz of liquid.

The possible uses are endless with a pretty statement piece like this, it could be used for dining and serving, or for storage and display. This piece is microwave and dishwasher safe.

This piece was thrown on my potter's wheel using Rod's Bod stoneware clay. After the bowl was thrown, I let it dry partially to 'leather hard'. I then flipped the bowl over and reattached it to the wheel in order to trim the foot a bit. While the cup was still attached upside down on the wheel, I added a wet ring of clay to the bottom of the bowl. I then threw the stem directly off the upside down cup.
