This vibrant rutile blue oil bottle is a perfect serving piece for an infused olive oil, a specialty vinegar, a fancy liquor, or really anything you might dispense from a pretty bottle. The layered rutile glazes create a beautiful, lively blue and purple color palette - this bottle could really liven up a kitchen counter. The swirl shape and smaller size make this bottle very easy to grasp and use.
This is a nice, compact size, it stands 6 ¼ inches without the spout (the spout adds about 2"). It's 3 ½” across the shoulder, and it easily holds 12 ounces, or around 350ml.
All of my pottery is microwave and dishwasher safe.
This piece was thrown on my pottery wheel using stoneware clay. The bottle was glazed in rutile glaze all over. A second, different rutile glaze was layered over the neck and shoulder, creating a vibrant swirl of blues and lavenders. This bottle was fired to cone 10 in a gas fueled kiln.
