This medium sized oil bottle is an excellent size for specialty olive oil or vinegar. The neutral and rustic Speckled White finish on this piece would blend in well with many types of decor. The spiral shape looks nice, and makes the bottle pleasant to grasp and easy to handle.
This is a medium size, it stands a little over 7 inches without the spout (the spout adds about 2"). It's around 3 1/4" across the widest part of the swirl, and it easily holds over 12 oz, right about 400 ml. This bottle will include both a metal spout, and a plastic spout (which is the better option for vinegar). All of my pottery is microwave and dishwasher safe.
The bottle was thrown on my potter's wheel using Laguna Rods Bod clay. To add the spiral shape, I pressed a rib against the outside wall of the pot, as my fingers pressed from the inside. I moved my hands up the pot as it spun, pressing it into the swirl shape. The bottle neck was shaped last. The entire piece was glazed in White Liner glaze, and fired in reduction to cone 10 in a gas fueled kiln.
