Speckled White Swirl Crock
Speckled White Swirl Crock
This simple Speckled White Crock would look beautiful on any kitchen counter or bar. It was created to be a spoon crock or a wine chiller, but there are many other possibilities. It would be gorgeous for a big wide bouquet of flowers, or it could be warmed in the oven to keep food hot. The rustic white glaze is a nice neutral that would blend beautifully into almost any decor.
Dimensions:
This piece stands 6 1/4 inches tall, and it's nearly 4 1/2 inches wide across the lip. All of my pottery is microwave and dishwasher safe.
The crock was thrown on my potters wheel using Laguna Rods Bod clay. The swirl shape was added by pressing into the side of the pot using the rounded end of a rubber rib, as my fingers pressed out from the interior of the pot. The rib and my interior hand moved up the pot as it spun, pressing in the swirl shape with a single pass.
The entire pot was glazed in White Liner glaze, and reduction fired to cone 10 in a gas kiln.
