Lavender Blue and White Bud Vases

from $32.00

These soft blue bud vases are dreamy and beautiful. They will bring a soft and calming vibe to any small space. The white and lavender slip texture looks lovely over the soft blue color of the clay. These vases are small, but not tiny - they are just the right size for a few flower buds or feathers.

I have 2 styles available.

To create these vases, I blended a blue ceramic stain into some cone 5 Bmix clay (a white stoneware clay). I then used the blue clay to throw these vases on my potters wheel. I added a layer of lavender slip (slip is a blend of clay and water) around the belly of the vase, followed by a layer of white slip. Then I used a jagged brush to add the texture through the wet slip, and to encourage the lavender slip to peak out from behind the white.

The vases were glazed in my transparent light lavender blue glaze, which added some tint to the white slip and deepened the subtle streaks of lavender. These vases were fired to cone 6 in my electric kiln.
