Blue Slip Textured Swirl Bottle with Dip Bowl

$52.00

This bright Blue and White Bottle is a perfect serving piece for a special olive oil or your favorite vinegar. This could also work for sake, liquor, or really anything you might dispense from a bottle. The white Milky Gloss glaze over the cobalt slip texture creates a joyful white and blue color palette. A small bowl is included to be used as a condiment bowl or an oil bowl (for dipping bread), or it can just be a cute little bowl for small snacks.

The bottle stands 7.5 inches tall. The spout adds a few inches, it's a bit under 10 inches with the metal spout. The bottle easily holds 16oz (around 500 ml). The small bowl is about 3.5 inches across and 1.75 inches tall.

The empty bottle weighs 1 lb 5 oz, and is comfortable to grasp and lift. Both a metal spout and a plastic spout is included. All of my pottery is microwave and dishwasher safe.

*NOTE: If purchased, The bottle pictured is exactly the bottle you will receive. I have quite a few of these little oil bowls, so you may get a different bowl - but the color and approximate size will be the same as what's described and pictured here.

The bottle was glazed in Milky Gloss glaze, which allows the blue slip texture to show through. The bowl was glazed in with the same glaze, and the pieces were fired to cone 6 in my electric kiln.

The bottle was made using cone 5 BMix clay. The swirl shape was pressed into the bottle as it was being created on my pottery wheel. The texture was added around the top using a cobalt slip (a blend of white clay, water and cobalt, blended to a milkshake consistency). The small bowl was made in the same clay, and has a similar swirl shape, though my swirl is more subtle on bowls.
