Golden Tan and Rutile Blue Planter with Attached Drainage Plate

$43.00

This golden tan and rutile blue planter has a warm, rich look; it could work well indoors or outdoors. This is the perfect flower pot for a patio or balcony, or inside on a counter or a desk. The earthy browns of the planter are punctuated with swirls of blue and lavender. This pretty pot could fit in with many types of decor, and will make a lovely home for a succulent, flowers, or any leafy green plant.

DIMENSIONS:
The planter stands 3 1/4" tall, and it's about 5 3/4" wide at the lip. It has 2 drainage holes in the bottom, about the size of a bean, which drain into the attached drainage galley. At the base of the planter, it's 5 3/4" across the rim of the drainage plate.

This piece was thrown on my potter's wheel with Rod's Bod clay. White clay slip (a blend of white clay and water) was brushed onto the belly of the pot with a jagged brush, to add some texture and color change to the finished piece. The rim and top few inches were glazed with my tan goldspot glaze. The outside of the planter was glazed in Rutile, and where the 2 glazes overlap there's a pretty band of blue. The inside of this planter was left unglazed.
