Emily Purple and White Oil Bottle with Dip Bowl

$52.00

This handmade bottle is perfect for serving any kind of oil or vinegar, or any other liquid you may want to serve out of something beautiful. The spiral shape makes this bottle pleasant to grasp and easy to handle. The small bowl pictured is included and can be used as a condiment bowl or an oil bowl (for dipping bread), or it can just be a nice small bowl for nuts or candies.

The bottle stands 8 1/4" tall without a spout (with the metal spout it's just over 9.5" tall); and 4.5” wide at the widest part of the shoulder. This bottle holds around 20 oz (or 650 ml). The little oil bowl is approximately 3.5 inches across, and 1.75 inches tall.

The empty bottle weighs 1 lb 5 oz, and is comfortable to grasp and lift. Both a metal spout and a plastic spout is included. All of my pottery is microwave and dishwasher safe.

The pot was glazed in Emily Purple glaze on the outside, about 3/4 of the way up the bottle. The top and interior was glazed in White Liner glaze. The speckling comes from the iron rich Rods Bod clay, peaking through the white glaze. The small bowl was glazed with the White Liner on the inside, and Emily Purple on the outside and around the lip.

The bottle was thrown on my potters wheel using Rods Bod clay. To add the spiral shape, I pressed a rib against the outside wall of the pot, as my fingers pressed from the inside. I moved my hands up the pot as it spun, pressing it into the swirl shape. The bottle neck was narrowed in just before the lip was smoothed and the bottle was finished.

*NOTE: If purchased, The bottle pictured is exactly the bottle you will receive. I have quite a few of these little oil bowls, so you may get a different bowl - but the color and approximate size will be the same as what's described and pictured here. If you would like to purchase the bottle but don't want the little bowl, please contact me in the ‘contact’ section of this website, or email me at jillspawn@jillspots.com.
